Bow River Flows Starting to Increase

As April progresses, we will see drops in the snow pack, emptying of reservoirs, and increases in flows from the Bearspaw Reservoir.
There are 4 recording station that will give an overview of what is happening this spring. Graphs for each of them are attached:
Sunshine Snow Pack – Its at a high level not seen for years.
Mount Oldham Snow Pack – Also at high levels.
Ghost Reservoir Storage – The graph shows the projected water levels for the year. The modified operations of the Ghost Reservoir to protect Calgary from flooding will see the reservoir dropped to minimum storage levels by June, and returning to normal operation levels by mid-July.
Bearspaw Reservoir Discharge – The most reliable recording station to see what water enters the Calgary reach of the Bow River. Flows have increased from 40 cms to 60 cms over the past week. Expect flows to increase over the next month.
